Junior Guard Christian Bliss out of Brooklyn, New York is making a case as one of the best guards on the east coast. Bliss leads the charge as the point guard for a talented George School team featuring Xavier commit Kachi Nzeh and sophomore center Luke Beviacqua who has high major potential. Bliss has already racked up a handful of mid-major offers from schools like Saint Peter’s, Drexel, Towson, Florida Gulf Coast, Bryant and Siena. His stock is continuing to rise, seeing interest from Villanova, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame and St. Johns to name a few high-major programs who have Bliss on their watch list.

The six-foot-three point guard has a tight handle and plays with extreme poise when up against pressure defense. His strong frame allows him to take bumps as well initiate contact on drives to get to his spots. Bliss has sneaky athleticism which he uses to catch defenders sleeping at the rim, along with the quickness to be an effective on-ball defender and good instincts when playing the passing lanes. He plays at his own speed and uses great change of pace to get by defenders. His understanding of spacing, timing and attacking angles shows his high IQ and next level feel for the game. Rarely ever sped up or out of control on his drives, he takes his time to read defenses and see where help defenders are on the floor so he knows where to attack. Adept at decelerating and dancing through the lane with euro-steps, veer steps and spin moves to finish around taller defenders in the paint. Bliss consistently gets paint touches and draws two defenders, which opens up lobs for bigs playing out of the dunker spot or catch and shoot threes for shooters on the wing. Look for Christian Bliss this season to prove why he can compete with the top prospects in the country and why his stock continues to rise.
