Six-foot guard TJ Robinson is a smooth lefty guard from Montclair, New Jersey. The Immaculate Conception High School Point Guard is Coach Kenny Payne’s first commit to the University of Louisville in the class of 2024. Robinson’s scoring ability and feel for the game make him one of the best guards in the class. Robinson plays at his own pace and reads the defense to pick his spots and create for teammates.

Skilled off the bounce in pick and roll situations, transition plays and isolation scenarios, Robinson can score on all three levels. Loves to get downhill and finish at the rim using athletically acrobatic finishes and floaters to avoid shot blockers. A crafty finisher and naturally plays off two feet for more controlled drives, an essential skill for all guards at the next level. With good size for his position and a quick first step, he blows by defenders using his frame to finish over or around help side defenders. His attacking play style makes defenses key in on him, where he then shows his ability as a capable playmaker dishing to bigs for dunks. Robinson uses defenders' aggressiveness to his advantage, by remaining physical on his drives and bumping defenders off balance to get to his spots for often automatic mid-range range jumpers. His quick hands and quick lateral movement along with his size give him the potential to be an elite defender at the collegiate level. While he loves the contact now, Robinson will need to add more strength to his frame to prepare for the next level. Adding consistency and range to his three point shooting along with adding to his physical attributes will really help him maximize his potential.
