Jaland Lowe, the 78th ranked prospect in the 2023 class according to our rankings, has just announced his commitment to Head Coach Jeff Capel and Pittsburgh. Lowe joins Carlton Carrington and Marlon Barnes, starting a great 2023 class for the Panthers.

Lowe had most likely the biggest stock rising summer with Houston Hoops (TX) on the Nike EYBL Circuit. He helped lead them to the Peach Jam Final Four. Lowe led the team in points and assists.

In this article, I break down his game and see how he will fit into Pittsburgh's system his freshman season.

Player Breakdown

Jaland Lowe is the kind of point guard that any team would want. He can do whatever is asked of him on the floor and does whatever is needed to win. Offensively he is a swiss army knife. Lowe is a smooth lefty that can score the ball in many different ways. He is very creative with the ball in his hands, allowing him to get by defenders and finish with either hand around the rim with craft. Passing the ball is probably Lowe's best skill. He is lethal in pick and roll play and always puts his teammates bin scoring positions. He is able to get paint touches and create scoring opportunities for his teammates on the perimeter. Lowe's effort is what makes him the player that he is. If there is a loose ball, Lowe is the first person to hit the floor, which in the end can help a team win games.

How he will fit in at Pittsburgh his freshman season

I believe that Jaland Lowe can have an immediate at Pitt his freshman season. Just off his abilities to pass the ball and his IQ, Lowe wins games. Obviously he can score the ball but I see him being a pass first point guard at the next level. He can help all teammates score. When he wants to score or is able to he will at the next level. He impacts winning in many different which will always lead to playing time.
