Parker Friedrichsen, a 4-star recruit out of the 2023 class, has just announced his commitment to Head Coach Mike Brey and Notre Dame. He will join Markus Burton and Brady Dunlap for commits in the 2023 class.

Friedrichsen proved himself this grassroots season, playing with KC Run GMC on the UAA Circuit. His smooth style of play and overall shooting abilities will help him at the next level.

In the article, I break down Friedrichsen's game and how he will fit in at Notre Dame his freshman season.

Player Breakdown

Friedrichsen can flat out shoot the basketball. He is one of the more pure shooters in the 2023 class. His abilities to shoot off the catch and dribble make him an above average scorer. When putting the ball on the floor, he is great at using his pull up and hitting mid range jumpers. When spotting up he is very dangerous. He never has a bad miss when shooting from beyond the three point arc. His on ball skills have shown major improvements as well. Friedrichsen has shown that he can set his teammates up for easy buckets and create shots for himself off the dribble. On the defensive side, his long arms allow him to rack up steals and deflections. Before he gets to Notre Dame for his freshman season, he will need to add some strength, besides that I think he can be very successful at the next level.

How he will fit in at Notre Dame his freshman season

Before Friedrichsen gets on campus, he needs to add some muscle. He has the time to do it but will struggle if he does not. When he does, he will be looked at as a "3 and D" type of player his freshman season. His shooting abilities will bring an offensive threat which will help him stay on the floor and help his team win. Once he builds up some muscle I could see him being a threat defensively also. He can guard 1-3with his long arms and quick feet. Overall I believe that with some added muscle, Friedrichsen will be a very successful college basketball player.
