Curtis Williams, the 74th ranked player in our 2023 rankings, has just announced his commitment to Head Coach Kenny Payne and Louisville. Williams joins Kaleb Glenn as the only two 2023 commits for the Cardinals.

Williams had a stellar grassroots season with The Family (MI) where he showcased all levels of his game. Returning to Brother Rice (MI) for his senior season, Williams will continue to improve.

In this article, I break down Williams game and discuss how he can fit in at Louisville his freshman season.

Player Breakdown

Williams is one of the most polished and skilled wings in the 2023 class. There is not a part of his game that he is not good at. Scoring the ball comes easy to him. His smooth style of play and advanced game allow him to score the ball from all angles and levels. He has the abilities to make difficult shots and finish through contact at the rim with his strength. Defensively, he moves very well for his size. Standing at 6'6, he as very quick feet which allows him to stay in front of smaller and quicker defenders. With the presence on both sides of the ball, Williams will have the chance to earn some big time minutes his freshman season.

How he will fit in at Louisville his freshman season

Williams has a great opportunity in front of him. With another year of high school to work on his game and body, Williams can come into Louisville and be a big time scoring and defensive threat. I have watch Williams guard multiple positions on the floor. His quick feet and active hands help him rack up steals and deflections. Offensively his strong body will allow him to compete with bigger and older opponents. If he makes strides in his skill set his senior year, expect Williams to play huge minutes his freshman season at Louisville.
