Name: Ryan Beasley
Height: 6’0’’
HS: Dougherty Valley
Grassroots: West Coast Elite NorCal UAA
Position: Point Guard
Comparison: Markus Howard
Calling Card: Perimeter Shooting/Defensive Competitiveness
Strengths: Ryan Beasley is a small guard that can really fill it up from all three levels. He averaged over 30 PPG during his junior season and was one of the leading scorers at the UAA Finals, putting up nearly 21 PPG. Beasley uses his speed and shifty handle to blow by defenders. He has tremendous touch on his floaters, which he uses frequently in the lane. Beasley knows how to use his lack of size to his advantage on the defensive end by getting up and under taller players, forcing them to turn the ball over. His scrappiness and competitiveness allows him to be an effective player on that end as well.
Areas to Improvement: Beasley should look to put on more muscle as he approaches college ball. Players will be bigger and stronger than the high school level, so adding to his frame should be one of the main goals for Beasley.
