Elliot Cadeau, the 5th ranked player in the 2024 class has had himself a very impressive spring and summer. Whether he was playing with the New Heights Lighting on the EYBL circuit or playing on Sweden's  U18 National team, Cadeau showed out.

The 6'2 PG has a very respectable list of college offers so far and that list will continue to grow. His speed with the ball, IQ, and court awareness has him ready for the college level already.

In this interview, Cadeau breaks down his recruitment, his decision to attend Link Academy (MO), and more.

Talk about your time with the New Heights Lightning (NY) this spring and summer

Elliot Cadeau: "This year we had a really good team. We didn't make as far as we wanted to. I think the main reason that happened is one of our players got injured. We had a good run. We didn't make the elite eight at Peach Jam and just fell short. We had a lot of wins and top three in the EYBL for a long time. Just really happy with the season."

What part of your game did you want to improve the most going into this grassroots season?

Elliot Cadeau: "My main focus going into the season was just getting back on the court. I was coming off an injury for four months and missed my whole Sophmore high school season. There was nothing that I really wanted to improve on. I was just trying to get back to my old stuff and play as much as I could."

You announced you will be attending Link Academy (MO) for the 2022-23 high school season, what went into that decision?

Elliot Cadeau: "We made that decision because we thought that it was the best decision for me. A lot of schools wanted me to go to their schools, but we just felt like Link was the best fit for me personally. I am really excited to go out there. The coaches are really good and I know that we have a really good schedule. I am just excited to go out there and play games on ESPN and play against the top players in the country."

You played with Sweden's U18 National team, talk about that experience

Elliot Cadeau: "That was a very great experience. I learned a lot. I saw a different perspective of basketball over there in Europe. I just love going out there and playing with them. It's a lot of fun."

Recruitment

How has the overall recruitment process been going for you?

Elliot Cadeau: "It has been going really good. A lot of people say that it is too much, but I don't think that it is too much for me right now. Maybe that is because I am not close to making a decision but the recruitment is going good. A lot of coaches are building relationships with me and my family. We are trying to enjoy it as much as we can."

You have tons of offers at the moment, what does it feel like receiving an offer?

Elliot Cadeau: "It means a lot to me. When I was younger I really dreamed of this. For it to actually be true now and get offers from colleges that I want to play for just showed me how hard work can really get you top where you want to be. All my hard work kind of paid off."

Out of all the schools recruiting you, what schools reach out the most?

Elliot Cadeau: "There is a couple of schools. Texas Tech have been reaching out for a long time now. UNC and Baylor I probably talk to those coaching staffs the most out of any of the other schools recruiting me. I am still in contact with a bunch of other schools."

You said that Baylor, North Carolina, and Texas Tech reach out the most. Breakdown those three schools and the conversations you have with the coaching staffs

North Carolina: "UNC, I talk to the head coach a lot. So I talk to Coach Hubert Davis. Every week I am on the phone with him. The conversions are kind of just building relationships right now. Like a lot of small talk, it's not really about basketball."

Baylor: "I talk with a couple of the coaches. I have been on FaceTime with Head Coach Scott Drew with my mom. It's not really too much basketball talk. It is the early steps of my recruitment, just really building are relationship with the coaches."

Texas Tech: " It is the same thing with the other two schools with Texas Tech."

Do you have a timetable on when you want to cut your list of schools down?

Elliot Cadeau: "I actually do not have a timetable on that. We are trying to patient with all of the recruiting stuff. We don't want to rush anything because it is a really big decision."
